2022 September EPI Intensive Training

Welcome to the 2022 September EPI Intensive Training!

This hybrid course includes four days of in-person training as well as online modules. Please review all the following information carefully to make sure you maximize your learning and earn the certificate of completion at the end.

To earn the EPI Intensive Certificate you must do all of the following:

  • Complete the 4-day in-person training and post-event evaluation
  • Complete 5 online EPI modules, and achieve 100% on the related knowledge checks (you have unlimited attempts) to support learning:(* = If at all possible, we recommend you complete these modules prior to the in-person training.)
    • Using and Reporting Data
    • Regulations and Requirements
    • NHSN Basics*
    • Basic Epidemiology *
    • Microbiology 101*
  • Review the flash cards in the Digital Resources for this course.
  • Score an 85% or higher on the final knowledge review and assessment for the program. You will have unlimited attempts to complete it. Each question comes with a rationale to support your learning. NOTE: for Fill-in-the-blank questions, be as simple as possible with your response. For example, if the question is asking for a numerical value, only provide the number, no accompanying text. You will be marked wrong if you provide more than you need to.
  • Complete the Post-Course Survey Evaluation for the overall certificate of completion.

APIC’s Learning Management System will track your progress! Once you have completed all of these items, you will be able to download your certificate under the Content tab within the “Post-Course Survey and Certificates” section.

Important notes:

  • To earn the certificates of completion, you have up to three months after the 4-day in-person training to complete all the requirements above.
  • Make sure to take advantage of the Digital Resource for this program! It includes the learning objectives, an extensive collection of flash cards for you to test your knowledge and learn the content, and resources for further learning.
  • Contact hours: If, for any reason you only complete the in-person 4-day training, you can earn contact hours for that only (28 hours). If you complete all program requirements and earn the EPI Intensive Certificate, you will earn a total of 34 contact hours. Once you have earned your contact hours, they can be found under the Content tab above under the “Post-Course Survey and Certificates” section.
  • Please find PDF copies of all Workbooks per day for this program above under the "Agenda and Workbooks" tab. APIC does not provide photocopies of the PowerPoints.
