The COVID-19 pandemic significantly heightened the need for effective Air Disinfection solutions in Healthcare facilities. The proven airborne transmission of microorganisms – notably the SARS-CoV-2 virus – led to the proliferation of germicidal Ultraviolet (UV) Air Disinfection and Air Purification technologies, product forms and claims, making it challenging for Infection Preventionists to get a basic level of factual clarity. This informative primer, from ASHRAE committee member and UVDI Vice President of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Ashish Mathur, will provide Healthcare Professionals with an essential, objective fact base to assess and select proven, effective and safe UV Air Disinfection and Air Purification solutions.
