This Miami-based researcher will present results of many international studies of HAIs, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). His work has taken him to many sites in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. He is the recipient of many awards for his publications and work in the IPC field. You won’t want to miss this view of IPC practices, along with lessons useful for us all.

Barbara Catt has worked in the field of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) for many years. Her current work (since Dec 2022) is with the Public Health Agency of Canada as a Senior Nurse Consultant working with the Stewardship Initiatives Division.

She has been involved in research and publications regarding disease transmission and education such as core competencies.

She played a major role in curriculum development and implementation of the mandatory core competency certification and hand hygiene initiatives in Ontario.

Barbara has also served as a Board Member for IPAC Canada since 2014 including the position as past IPAC Canada President (2022) and currently is the Chair for the International Federation of Infection Control.
